Entertaiment is a collection of works of art, literature, music, games and other forms of recreation that are produced for pleasure, leisure or gratification. It is a broad concept that can incorporate various styles of play, satire, party, non secular pageant and other activities that may be considered entertainment for one person but might be considered work or an act of cruelty for another.

The word entertainment derives from the Latin intertenere, meaning “to hold inside.” Entertainment often hits on points that our brains were evolved to deeply react to in order to understand and navigate the social world.
